OUR FRUIT

History

Our history took root in the lovely Maipo Valley , an area in Chile 's central region known
for its rich fruit and fertile earth

Agrícola AbuFrut Exportadores came about in mid-1977 when founder Faisal Abu-Awad started his business on the ex-La Paloma agricultural property in Buin, the same property where he produces table grapes and cherries today. Later, in mid-2000, the company built a climate controlled packing facility with cold storage; a tool that marked a new phase for the company that is now part of the Valle del Maipo Chilean Fruit S. A. board of directors.

Agrícola Santa Laura Del Alto was created in 1975 by Ernesto Olmedo who started out by renting a small piece of land in the Alto Jahuel, Buin area. Ernesto became known in the agricultural sector for his agro-business consultation services where through his excellent practices he improved production quality and development. His many years of hard work lead him to be the active partner that he is today at Valle del Maipo Chilean Fruit.

Agrícola Maitahue was founded in 1985 by Mauricio Wolde and his wife, whose goal it was to produce fruit in Huelquén for export. Thanks to their sustained growth over time, they now produce fresh and dried fruits, have a walnut processing plant and a climate-controlled packing facility. They are part of the Valle del Maipo Chilean Fruit S.A. board of directors.

Agrícola La Masía was founded by Miguel González and Nicolás Tugas in 1976. They later built a climate-controlled packing facility and cold storage freezer which allowed them to offer their services to numerous growers from the area. In 2007 Agrícola La Masía strengthened their leadership with the installation of one of the country’s most sophisticated cherry production lines. Their success is achieved thanks to the professionalism of the people that shape them and that is why today they are members of the board of directors of Valle del Maipo Chilean Fruit S.A.
